SAM COSGROVE LOOKS AHEAD TO HORSHAM REPLAY

13 November 2023

Sam Cosgrove spoke to the press ahead of our Emirates FA Cup round one replay at Horsham on Tuesday night.

ON FACING THE UNDERDOG

"Everyone loves an underdog story. They obviously had that at our place the other week. There's actually a sense of excitement for us. It's not often that you're involved in these games. We're under no illusion that we need to go down there and get the job done. The game the other week was obviously disappointing. We weren't at our best. We've had a little warning shot, but luckily we've got a chance to put it right. We'll be going down there to get the job done."

ON HAVING THE CHANCE TO MAKE AMENDS

"We had that warning. Luckily, we didn't get knocked out. We've got a chance to go down there and rectify the first result. We've got that extra chance to go down there."

ON TRAVELLING TO HORSHAM

"It's away from the norm. We're used to playing in decent stadiums, big stadiums, playing in front of multiple thousands of people. Whereas we're going to go down to Horsham, it'll be a packed out house, but it won't be a massive stadium. It should be a good tie, they'll come flying out the blocks and it will be a pretty raucous atmosphere. We're looking forward to it."

ON FITNESS

"I'm getting there. Personally, it's been a frustrating couple of weeks. I was breaking down a little bit in training and not getting the time out of the grass that I'd want to. Mentally, I'm right at it ready to go. As I said, it's been a frustrating couple of weeks so I'm ready and raring to go. Hopefully I can get a clear run and get some game time."
