Board Responsibility

The Board and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) are committed to promoting inclusion and eliminating discrimination from football and within our business. We are publicly accountable for Equality and will receive regular updates on Barnsley Football Club activities and the implementation of the Equality Policy.  It is the role of the Board and the CEO to address any actual or potential breaches of the policy.

Barnsley Football Club will act promptly to deal with any complaints or grievances raised in respect of any breach of this policy and take appropriate disciplinary action where breaches of this policy are deemed to have occurred.

We take a zero-tolerance approach to any form of discrimination or bullying based on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marital status or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation; the “protected characteristics” under the Equality Act 2010.

Julie Anne Quay, Director, will have responsibility for overseeing the delivery of their specific task of the Equality Action plan, reporting regularly to the rest of the Board.

All employees have responsibilities to respect, act in accordance with and thereby support and promote the intentions of the Barnsley Football Club Equality Policy and Equality activities and where appropriate, individual work programmes will be amended to include Equality-related tasks.

Kick it Out provide a reporting app, which provides users with the ability to attach video, photo and audio evidence to complaints to help support investigations into discriminatory abuse and behaviour.

The Kick It Out app can be downloaded for free from the Apple App store or from Google Play
