NEILL COLLINS AHEAD OF READING TRIP

7 December 2023

Neill Collins spoke to the media ahead of Saturday's clash with Reading in Sky Bet League One.

ON FANS FORUM

"One thing that always comes through when you do something like that is particularly how much the fans care and the passion they have got for the Club. They want the Club to successful, not just on the field, but off the field. Getting the opportunity to speak to them face to face was very good, I enjoy it. No problem getting asked tough questions because I know that they're coming from a good place. These events serve a really good purpose, certainly for the fans, but for myself as well."

ON JOHN McATEE INJURY

"I think we'll know more today. We just need to wait and see and take what comes. We have no idea at this stage, it would be foolish of me to try and even guess.

ON LIAM ROBERTS

"He's getting there. He's back in the building and starting to do some excersises. We're certainly edging a lot closer to Liam being back in the squad."

ON KACPER LOPATA RETURNING

"When Kacper got injured in the last seconds of our win in Northampton, where he had been very good, we knew he was going to be a huge miss. It says a lot that Mael has stepped in and done very, very well so now we've got more options because of tha games that Mael has played. We need some of Kacper's strengths. He's good in the air, he defends the box really well. So it's just another string to our bow that we can bring back into the squad."

ON READING

"They've got a young side, but a very good side in terms of some of the quality. They won against Carlisle, 5-1. They beat Wycombe away prior to that. They're not on too bad of a run in the league. They might have their weaknesses, but they have a lot of strenghts. The club has gone through a lot, that's probably brought them together and brought a certain team spirit amongst the team and the staff. It's going to be a very tough game on Saturday and one that, as always, we're going to need to be at our very best."
