The pacey striker joined Barnsley in October of 2020 after impressing on trial.
Prior to that, the Canadian youngster had originally been part of Reds in the Community's successful Shadow Scholar programme.
After a decent season in front of goal in 2020/21, Simpson joined Esbjerg fB of Denmark in a loan move to aid his development.
