MIKE BÄHRE
The final addition to Daniel Stendel's squad in the summer window of 2018, Mike arrived on the 31st of August on-loan from German outfit Hannover 96 and quickly made his debut in a victory over Oldham Athletic four days later.
An intelligent and versatile midfielder who had played under Stendel for the majority of his youth and then professional career, Bähre was looking to make a big impact on English football.
He scored his first Reds goal in a 4-2 FA Cup victory over Southend United, and really came to the fore in the second half of the season as Barnsley earned automatic promotion.
Rewarded for his contribution to a stellar season by earning himself a permanent deal at Oakwell, Mike started the 2019/20 campaign as captain but he was in and out of the side throughout that dramatic season, notaby falling out of favour with Head Coach, Gerhard Struber.
