MARCEL RITZMAIER
The Reds brought Austrian playmaker Marcel Ritzmaier to Oakwell at the start of 2020's January transfer window, with the left-footed midfielder signing a two-and-a-half-year deal, leaving Wolfsberger AC in his homeland.
Playing 15 times at the back end of the campaign, Ritzmaier was a regular pick under Gerhard Struber, as Barnsley maintained their Championship status.
He joined Rapid Wien in October of 2020, signing a season-long loan deal after Struber left for New York, and had an outstanding campaign back in his homeland.
