AAPO HALME
Joining the Reds during the 2019 summer transfer window from neighbours Leeds United, Aapo Halme is a tall and commanding presence in central defence.
A captain of the Finnish U21 side, Aapo joined the Reds ahead of our return to the second tier hoping to kick on in English football.
The youngster showed his versatility in the first half of the 2019/20 season when operating in a holding midfield role on occasion and helping himself to three goals before the New Year.
Owing to injury issues, and the form of others in the backline, Aapo was restricted in terms of appearances in the 2020/21 campaign, but was reliable when called upon.
The Finn was barely used again, in the following season, with injuries again halting his progress.
