Highly-rated youngster Callum Styles arrived at Barnsley in the summer of 2018, joining the Reds from Bury FC, where he returned on loan almost immediately to continue his rapid development.
He returned in January of 2019 to become part of the first team setup at Oakwell, making a handful of impressive cameos as the Reds confirmed automatic promotion from Sky Bet League One.
Callum had to be patient in waiting for a run at first team level, before really making an impact at the conclusion of the 2019/20 Sky Bet Championship campaign, putting in a number of outstanding performances, in a wider role at left-wing-back, as the Reds secured survival on the final day at Brentford, a game in which Styles scored his first goal for the club.
At 20-years-old, Styles in the summer of 2020 signed fresh terms on a contract until 2023, with the club also holding another 12-month option.
The 2020/21 campaign saw Callum's stock rise still further, winning a number of individual awards, scoring a handful of stunning goals and developing his defensive game as he played a key role in the Reds' play-off season.
Styles made the jump to international football in the 2021/22 campaign, selected and debuting for Hungary - qualifying through his grandparents' heritage - but at Oakwell, it was a real struggle as Barnsley were relegated back into the third tier.
