Our U18s have qualified for the Professional Development League play-offs for the third consecutive season.
A 3-0 victory over Wigan Athletic on Tuesday afternoon guaranteed a top two finish for Nicky Eaden’s youngsters, who will travel to Charlton Athletic in a one-legged semi-final at the Valley.
The 22/23 champions still have one game remaining of the current campaign – a home fixture against Watford this weekend – and will be aiming to retain their title when the play-offs get underway on 18 May.
It is the third year running that Barnsley have faced the Addicks at this stage of the season. The young Reds suffered an agonising 3-2 defeat in the semi-finals in 2022 before exacting revenge at Oakwell last term by clinching a first ever league crown following a dramatic penalty shootout.
