Our Women's team travel to the North East on Sunday for a 2pm kick off.
After no fixture last weekend, Barnsley are back in action when travelling to face South Shields this Sunday in the North East Regional Women's Premier League.
There are just four points separating the top six in the table, as the promotion battle has well and truly begun!
The Reds are 3rd despite no fixture last Sunday, just a point behind co-leaders, Wallsend and Bradford City.
On Sunday, Jess Horsley's side head north to South Shields for a 2pm kick off.
Jess is looking forward to Sunday's test: "The girls have had a great few weeks in training and we are ready to get back playing after a week off. We are going into the game off the back of a 6-0 cup win so the confidence within the group is high.
"We want to get our league performances back to where they were and go to South Shields this weekend continuing as we finished at Hull."
Barnsley edged a tight game 1-0 in the reverse fixture back in January and a victory on this occasion is vital if we're to keep our title ambitions alive.
"It was a great fixture when we played them at home in January. Horsley explained. "We know it is going to be a tough game on Sunday. We know we have to make sure we turn up and perform to the best of our ability."
