NEILL COLLINS PREVIEWS BOLTON CLASH

4 March 2024

Neill Collins spoke to the media ahead of the visit of Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday night in Sky Bet League One.

REFLECTIONS ON WYCOMBE

"As you can imagine, the stage we're at in the season the three points was the be all and end all. There were a lot more positives than negatives in perspective. Scoring four goals away from home is excellent. We put ourselves in a lot of good positions. The only disappointment really was that we gave up a couple of cheap goals. Then when we went 4-2 up I thought we could have maybe made a couple of better decisions. We were under a little bit of pressure for a few moments but that's me nit-picking. The players showed again great togetherness and resilience, the kind of mentality and traits you would like to see. All in all a positive day's work at a very tough place to go."

ON MENTAL ROBUSTNESS OF THE SQUAD

"At times we have been ruthless, but we can still add more of that. The players have shown a great desire to win games and to do what it takes to see us get three points. That comes from being so desperate to win and achieve something. They take a lot of credit for that. They've pushed each other through that."

ON GOALS ALL OVER THE PITCH

"Would we have liked a few more clean sheets? Absolutely. But, I really like having a team that can score goals and having goals all the way through. The way we want to play, we need goals all over the pitch. In this kind of system that we use, if you're a wing-back, if you're a midfielder, striker, it shouldn't matter who's scoring, but we should have people scoring goals. We've seen in that Corey, he's chipped in well. A goal off a set piece. Conor Grant, we know that he's capable in the final third. Adam Phillips has been on form recently as has Herbie Kane. It's a real positive. It's something that all successful teams ideally have."

ON BOLTON WANDERERS

"I expect a great game. I expect a really tough Bolton side who I think are as good as anyone in the league. Really been impressed watching them. The game at Bolton was an excellent League One game. I expect more of the same tomorrow night. It will be a really tough affair, obviously, there is a lot at stake. A lot to look forward to, really."
