NEILL COLLINS REVIEWS BOLTON POINT

5 March 2024

Neill Collins spoke to iFollow Barnsley after the Reds drew 2-2 with Bolton Wanderers.

The Reds opened the scoring via John McAtee after 25 minutes, before Donovan Pines doubled the scoring shortly after the restart to make it two-in-two for the American.

Bolton got one back through Victor Adeboyejo just after the hour mark, with the Whites adding one in the final minute after referee James Bell pointed to the spot, Sheehan missed the spot-kick, but the rebound falling to substitute Randell Williams who tapped home to ensure the spoils were shared.

Head Coach, Neill Collins praised the application of his squad against a strong opposition in Bolton:

"Credit to the players. They gave everything. For two thirds of the game, if not more, I thought we were outstanding. Just that final part, it's the reason we're not celebrating the win. But against a very good side who were always going to take you to the final whistle. Really pleased with a lot of parts of the performance, especially in such a big game. Just disappointed that a couple of cracks appeared that we need to sort so that doesn't happen again."
