BETTY CHEETHAM'S POST-MATCH THOUGHTS AFTER VICTORY OVER REDCAR

27 March 2024

Fresh from scoring a wonderful long-range effort in Sunday's win against Redcar, we caught up with Betty Cheetham.

A left-footed strike that left the visiting goalkeeper with no chance helped the Reds in their 4-1 drubbing of Redcar at Oakwell on Sunday afternoon.

The goalscorer, Betty Cheetham reckons it's another boost to the morale of the squad with some critical fixtures on the way.

"It was a great win and will definitely give the team even more confidence going into the last few games of the season.

"We know we’ve got some big games coming up and we’re ready to push on and try and finish as high in the table as we can."

Against a defensive opponent who often slowed play down it was important that the girls remained focused and took their opportunities.

They did so in ruthless fashion, registering a second consecutive 4-1 victory.

"We showed today as well that we can be clinical and it was a really good feeling to get on the scoresheet. We played with confidence and kept pushing right until the end which is exactly what we want to do."
