A 'reluctant custodian' is how he often described himself, but without Patrick stepping up to the plate in 2003, who knows what would have become of this institution that is so dear to the hearts of so many.
His legacy lives on and all at Oakwell miss him enormously, particularly at this time of the year. With wife, Jean and his son, James on the current board here at the Club, our thoughts - as ever - are with his family.
