John McAtee is voted as the scorer of the best goal during December, awarded for his outstanding 35-yarder at Port Vale!
The 24-year-old wins the Goal of the Month award, in association with NG Decor, and as voted for by Reds fans!
In a month where McAtee was in impressive form, he scored three goals and contributed four assists over the festive period, helping the Reds go unbeaten over Christmas and the New Year.
The winning strike in December's vote came during our Boxing Day victory at Vale Park, with the on-loan forward letting fly from 35 yards to make it 3-0 to the Reds inside 37 minutes.
Speaking on the goal, John told us: "It's just nice to be hitting some good form, and to be recognised for things like this.
'If I've got to score worldies then I'll try and do that, but it would be nice to be getting some of those so-called 'easier' finishes too."
