Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Kyran Lofthouse has been recalled from his loan spell at Gateshead FC.
The 23-year-old joined the National League outfit in September, and Gateshead are currently lying in 5th place in the division and well in the hunt for a play-off place.
Making 14 appearances since his arrival, the Reds defender also helped the Tynesiders to the Emirates FA Cup first round and they're also in the FA Trophy fourth round.
Lofthouse signed for the Reds on a three-year deal in July 2023 and made three appearances before making the temporary move north to link up with Gateshead.
Bobby Hassell, Interim Director of Football, commented on the recall: “Kyran has had a brilliant spell at Gateshead and has demonstrated a consistent, high level of performance in a team going well in the National League.
“However, we want to keep pushing Kyran to help reach the potential we think he has at his disposal and so will be evaluating options within the EFL to provide the best environment possible for Kyran to further his development.
