Herbie Kane is named as the Sky Bet League One December Player of the Month.
Kane provided the box-to-box golden thread that ran through our unbeaten month, either scoring or assisting in every one of their five games. Herbie managed three of each, driving forward from central midfield to add to his defensive duties.
Reds Head Coach, Neill Collins said: “I’m absolutely delighted for Herbie to pick up this award. It is a sign of how well the team has done and clearly Herbie is an integral part of that.”
Kane said: “I am so happy to win this award, I didn’t even think about it, I just focused on my football. It was one of my goals to win this award so I’m very pleased.”
Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said: “Barnsley went unbeaten in December and Herbie Kane was at the centre of everything good for the Tykes. For a box-to-box midfielder to score or assist in every one of their five games sums up his month, everything he touched turned to gold.
“Herbie’s form will be integral in Barnsley’s push to chase down the league leaders in League One.”
