GOAL A – DEVANTE COLE v WIGAN ATHLETIC
It’s fitting that our first goal of 2024 was scored by the player who rounding off our scoring in 2023, and this was a typical Devante Cole finish as he stretched to slide home Adam Phillips’ low cross from close range after John McAtee had expertly won possession back in a dangerous area.
GOAL B – COREY O’KEEFFE v BRISTOL ROVERS
Just when it appeared as though we wouldn’t find a way through against a stubborn Bristol Rovers side, Adam Phillips danced and weaved his way beyond a couple of challenges before finding an overlapping Corey O’Keeffe, who drilled into the bottom corner to seal three important points at Oakwell.
GOAL C – DEVANTE COLE v CARLISLE UNITED
Certainly not at our best against a Carlisle United team struggling at the wrong end of the table, we needed a spark to get us back on track. It duly came with a moment of real quality as Jordan Williams surged forward and fired a pass into the feet of Devante Cole, who controlled superbly before lashing a magnificent drive into the far corner.
GOAL D - MAËL DE GEVIGNEY v EXETER CITY
Searching for a way back into the contest, the Reds were throwing everything at Exeter City and eventually made the breakthrough when Nicky Cadden’s cross was headed back into the mix by Jack Shepherd and Maël de Gevigney stooped bravely to nod home the third goal of his Barnsley career.
