NEILL COLLINS SPEAKS AHEAD OF STEVENAGE TRIP

18 January 2024

Our Head Coach previewed our trip to Stevenage this Saturday for iFollow Barnsley.

INJURY UPDATE AHEAD OF STEVENAGE

"Jamie McCart is progressing. We're going to have to take our time to make sure that when he comes back he's fully fit. It's a calf injury that we need to just respect, it's changing day to day. He's progressing as we'd expect.

"Josh Benson is progressing, he's been running. He had a little setback a couple of weeks ago, we're hoping to have him back by the end of the month."

ON CONOR McCARTHY'S LOAN MOVE TO SWINDON TOWN

"Conor has been a consumate professional when been here. I'm glad that he's got the opportunity to go and play. I think it will be a good move for him and a good signing for Swindon."

PLAYERS RESPONSE TO CARLISLE PERFORMANCE

"Reflecting on the other night, I understand that we were all frustrated with the first 20 mins. But when I sit back and watch it back, I think a lot more should be made about the positives. Again, this Club hadn't come from behind in two years. We're making it a more regular occurence than we'd like, because we'd like to be ahead. Any team in any league has to be able to come from behind. It was pretty clear the other night it was individual errors and I thought the players handled that very well amongst themselves. Jordan Williams was very good at half-time at making sure it wasn't good enough but equally we can put this right."

ON STEVENAGE

"It was a very tight game. It was a very tough game. Steve Evans has done a fantastic job quite clearly, getting promoted. Every game they play is a very tight affair. We did very well in the first half. Here, even though we went behind, we made chances. They tested us, we tested them and I think it'll be an even bigger test this Saturday."
