Today will see the launch of the exciting initiative ‘My Home Debut’ at Oakwell.
The Home Debut Project, led by Barnsley FC Community Trust, Barnsley FC, and Palmer Construction, is a pioneering initiative aimed at engaging, inspiring and connecting young people in the community to Barnsley FC. The project seeks to bridge the gap between the Club and its fans by providing a unique and immersive experience that goes beyond simply attending a match.
The vision behind it is simple yet powerful: to ensure that every child in the borough has the opportunity to visit Oakwell, the iconic home of Barnsley FC, and experience the thrill of scoring a goal before their seventh birthday.
Palmer Construction, in collaboration with Barnsley FC and Barnsley FC Community Trust, has designed a program that promises an unforgettable day for each participating child. The initiative aims to extend invitations to all local schools and grassroots sports teams, creating an inclusive environment for youngsters to immerse themselves in the world of football.
Simon Dennis, Managing Director of Palmer Construction, said: “We’re extremely proud of our Barnsley roots and we’ve been fortunate to support many local schools and junior grassroots sporting clubs over the years. The new initiative allows us to develop this further, providing an opportunity for the young people of the town to engage with the club and experience an amazing day which will long live in the memory.”

It is a transformative experience that aims to inspire, engage and connect young people to Barnsley FC in a meaningful way and we look forward to running it at every Barnsley FC home game for the rest of the season.”
