Ahead of our Sky Bet League One fixture against Leyton Orient at the weekend, Barnsley Football Club – in partnership with Palmer Construction and Barnsley FC Community Trust – launched the ‘My Home Debut’ initiative.
The project is aimed at engaging, inspiring and connecting young people in the community to Barnsley FC by giving them the opportunity to visit Oakwell and experience the thrill of scoring a goal before their seventh birthday in front of the iconic Ponty End!
A number of youngsters took part in fun activities at our Community building before entertaining themselves pre-match at the Ozone prior to kick-off, where they watched the Reds’ dramatic 2-1 victory from the West Stand.
Of course, the day wasn’t complete without a penalty kick at half-time and a meet and greet with our loveable mascot, Toby Tyke!
