KACPER LOPATA DEPARTS ON LOAN

1 February 2024

Barnsley Football Club can confirm that Kacper Lopata has joined Port Vale on loan until the end of the 23/24 season.

The Polish defender makes a deadline day switch to the Valiants for the remainder of the campaign.

Lopata has made 15 appearances for the Reds since arriving at Oakwell and made an immediate impact in the backline before sustaining a fractured collarbone late on in our victory over Northampton Town back in September.

Interim Director of Football, Bobby Hassell commented on the deal: “Kacper started the season in brilliant form and integrated smoothly into the squad.

“He was unfortunate to pick up the injury against Cheltenham but worked hard during his rehabilitation and got himself back in contention with a professional attitude.

“His minutes have been limited since his return due to the depth we have in defensive positions. For his development, we felt it was optimal for Kacper to go out and play competitive minutes and return to Oakwell in the summer.”

We wish Kacper the best of luck for the rest of the season.
