LOAN ROUND UP | 03.02.24

5 February 2024

A summary of how our Reds out on loan fared in the weekend's action.

Jack Shepherd played his first game for Cheltenham Town since his deadline day move to Gloucestershire and impressed for the Robins despite a 3-1 loss to Wycombe Wanderers for Darrell Clarke's side. The young centre-back assisted Matt Taylor's consolation in the 58th minute with a hooked ball to keep the move alive from Liam Sercombe's deep corner.

Conor McCarthy played 90 minutes for Swindon Town in a 2-1 defeat to Newport County on Saturday afternoon at Rodney Parade. It was the Irishman's second game for the Robins, the first a two nil victory over Bradford City at the County Ground.

Joe Ackroyd was part of a Buxton team that overcame Curzon Ashton by three goals to nil on their travels. The victory saw the side climb to 15th in the National League North table.

Finally, Andy Dallas was a second-half substitute for Oldham Athletic in their National League clash against Ebbsfleet United away from home, the spoils being shared in a 0-0 draw at Stonebridge Road.

Kyran Lofthouse was introduced eight minutes from time in Barrow, just after MK Dons conceded to Cole Stockton's finish in the 78th minute. Mike Williamson's side failed to find an equaliser in Cumbria.

Kacper Lopata was an unused substitute for Port Vale as they lost out by three goals to nil to Fleetwood Town on the Fylde Coast in Sky Bet League One. Vale welcome Leyton Orient to Burslem on Tuesday evening.

Keep going, lads!
