Conor Grant gave his first interview as a Barnsley player after joining the ranks at Oakwell on loan.
The young midfielder arrives from MK Dons until the end of the campaign, with the Reds having an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
Our newest addition is motivated by the ambitions set at Oakwell for the rest of the campaign.
"I'm really happy," he smiled. "I've had conversations with the manager over the last day or two and they went really well. It's something that I wanted to be a part of."
Grant may be a familiar figure to Reds fans, the Irishman featuring in our dramatic 4-4 draw at Stadium MK last campaign.
He gave a flavour of how he likes to express himself out on the pitch and what he can bring to the Barnsley squad.
“First off, I’ll always give 100% any time I’m on the pitch. I’m more attack minded. I like to get on the ball and link play from defence to attack. Hopefully, I can chip in with some goals and assists.”
The 22-year-old joins with the Reds in the play-offs spots in League One, looking to climb the table before the season curtain call in April.
This promising scenario provided further inspiration for the midfielder in choosing Oakwell to continue his development and forge his career in the game.
“It was a big part of coming here, the ambition to get promoted out of this league and it’s something that I really want to be a part of.”
