NEILL COLLINS LOOKS AHEAD TO WYCOMBE TRIP

29 February 2024

Neill Collins spoke to the media ahead of the Reds' trip to Wycombe Wanderers this Saturday in Sky Bet League One.

ON SQUAD MORALE

"We're good. As you can imagine, following on from a good result, people are in good spirits. We've had a good week's training.

ON UPCOMING FIXTURES

"Prior to Derby if we lost we're out, apparently! It was a must-win everyone kept telling me, otherwise it's over. You win and suddenly everything is on. We've got to keep on an even keel. We're going to play five games in the next two weeks, that's a lot to be playing for. We can't get too despondent if we drop any points, but equally we can't get too high if we go on that good run."

ON CONSISTENCY

"The biggest thing we've had here is consistency. I think if anyone looked at our results in the league over a long period of time, it's really consistent. That's one of the best things you can have in football because what you've just said there, I've been in teams where you never know where you're next win is going to come from, it comes, then you go on a great run. Then equally, you think you're never going to get beat and it can change. What our group I think has done well is just staying pretty consistent. We've tried to do that and I think consistency between now and the end of the season is quite clearly going to be very important."

ON WYCOMBE WANDERERS

"Like anyone, they've had players in, players out, new signings in January. I think they've settled down and they've had their stronger players available which means they're competitive with anyone. They've always been good home, they've got a Wembley final to look forward to and coming off the back of a good result the other night. I feel that every away game is a big challenge because of the environment you're going in to. Teams are generally on the front foot at home, we've done really well with that, but again, it's just another big challenge against a team that want to be challenging up near where we're at. They've got the players to do that, so as we see on any given week with the results, it's tough."
