JAMIE McCART AHEAD OF CHARLTON TRIP

4 April 2024

The Reds defender sat down with the media to look ahead to Charlton Athletic on Saturday in Sky Bet League One.

ON BURTON ALBION WIN

"It was very good. That's something we credit ourselves on, that kind of bounce-back ability that we have if we had a poor performance and a poor result. It was a difficult place to go, difficult pitch. It was an important win."

ON GAINING POINTS FROM LOSING POSITIONS

"I think it shows a really good mentality. I think the gaffer made a strong point of that earlier in the season that Barnsley previously struggled when they went 1-0 down. But I think it's also the case that at times we're shooting ourselves in the foot because we're letting the opposition into the game quicker than maybe we should be. We should be the ones taking the lead."

ON INTEGRATION BACK INTO THE SQUAD

"I'm delighted. Obviously it was difficult at the time with the injury and the timing of it as well, just after the New Year. I think I had the same thing last year. It was really frustrating, but I just made sure I worked hard and came back as quick as I could. Try and put myself into contention for selection in the team."

ON CHARLTON ATHLETIC

"They're obviously a club that are lower than they expect to be. They've got a really good squad, good manager, they've picked up under Nathan Jones. We're under no illusion it will be a tough game, especially going there. They're not officially safe yet. It is going to be a really difficult game."
