MAËL DE GEVIGNEY PREVIEWS READING CLASH

11 April 2024

The Frenchman looks towards Saturday as Barnsley welcome Reading in a 3pm kick-off.

ON RECENT FORM

"It's been frustrating, disappointing. We think the content of the games have deserved more, that we're better than the results.

"But we're staying positive, we're looking forward.

"There are four more games, 12 more points and we need a good end to the season."

ON DEFENSIVE STRUCTURE

"We have been conceding far too many goals. And for me, in football you have to be good in the key moments.

"Whether that's taking your chances in attack or being strong and compact in defence.

"And maybe we've not been good enough in these key moments across the last few games."

REACTING POSITIVELY

"This is the moment where we have to think that we are the same players, we've won so many games and remember what we are as a team. We can't dwell on this bad run.

"We must look forward, stay positive and focus on what's ahead."

ON BEING AT OAKWELL

"Especially after recent games, it's important that we come together at home. We need to feel like the fans they are behind us. We need them, we really need them.

"We then have to do our best to give them a performance at Oakwell."
