BARRY COTTER AHEAD OF BLACKPOOL TRIP

19 April 2024

Barry Cotter spoke to the media as we prepare to take on Blackpool in league action on Saturday.

ON POMPEY RESULT

"I felt we were the better side on the night. It's just little details that got them over the line and left us empty handed. Overall I feel like we were the better side on the night."

ON STARTING AT FRATTON PARK

"Yeah, you know me, I'm always ready to get a kick of the ball. It was a positive I took for myself, getting back in the side. I have been focusing on keeping my standards up behind closed doors when it matters and giving myself the best opportunity to be in the gaffer's selection. He trusted me to do a job against Portsmouth, which I was grateful for, it's just a pity we didn't get three points."

ON FORM

"Teams go through a dry spell, it's just a part of football. We just have to focus on getting that winning feeling back, secure the play-offs and bring what we've done all season into the play-off games."

ON BLACKPOOL

"Everybody is excited here about every game, everyone wants to play every game. Blackpool are tight, they're compact, they're hard to break down. But I feel like what we have in the team, with how many players that can pull the rabbit out of the hat. But I don't even think it's a case of doing that, it's a case of sticking to what we've done with the gaffer on the training pitch, trusting the process and executing it."
