ASHLEIGH RIDSDEL-HARRISON PREVIEWS SUNDAY'S TRIP TO SUNDERLAND

18 April 2024

Our goalkeeper looks ahead to a key league encounter in the North East.

"I am looking forward to the game on Sunday," Ash told us. "I feel like playing against Sunderland is going to be a good match as they are coming off a win against Spennymoor in the cup, so even though we beat them last time we need to go into the match expecting a battle."

Fighting for trophies on two different fronts, Ashleigh believes the hard work done on the training ground will eventually reap its rewards.

"Our training is really intense. Jess is getting us to work on game-scenario drills so we are coming into games prepared and at the best of our ability. I think this shows with where we are in the league and cup.

"Myself and the girls are there week in, week out working on our fitness, strength and abilities as these are just as important as the game preparation. I think we can all see the improvements from the beginning of the season."

The Reds head to Sunderland on Sunday in a 2pm kick-off, and we'll keep you updated across all channels as the girls look to climb the league table with a precious three points.
