Barnsley Football Club is today announcing a unique new partnership with Women in Football, a network of professionals supporting women in the game.
Launched after successfully rebranding our Women's Team ahead of the 23/24 season here at Oakwell, this exciting partnership with Women in Football aims to attract, inspire and improve the participation of female football players and coaches across our region.
Women in Football aims to improve women’s representation at all levels of the game by challenging discrimination and lobbying for change in the sport industry, and eliminate negative attitudes towards women working in football.
As we kick off this brand new partnership, our Club Secretary and EDI Lead here at Barnsley FC, Eleanor Dobson spoke of her pride with the Reds teaming up with such a progressive and forward-thinking organisation.
"We are proud to pledge our allegiance to Women in Football." Eleanor told us.
"Here at Oakwell, we believe that the women's game should be just as valued and celebrated as the men’s game, and this partnership is how we’re hoping to make a meaningful and long-term difference to champion female participation at all levels."
