Owen Dodgson spoke to iFollow Barnsley after our 2-0 victory over Grimsby Town in EFL Trophy action at Oakwell on Tuesday night.
"I keep working, keep improving, and hopefully show the Barnsley fans what we have signed. I'll keep working hard to do that."
Arriving at Oakwell on Friday, Dodgson has a quick start to life at Barnsley FC, starting on Tuesday night and playing the full ninety minutes against the Mariners.
The debutant was happy with his performance and expressed his desire to show both the Reds coaching staff and supporters what he can do.
"I'm very, very happy," smiled the 20-year-old. "It's only the start, the first game to make an impression. I've just got to keep working hard now to put myself in the team."
"I know I've got a lot more to show as well," continued Dodgson. "I keep working, keep improving, and hopefully show the Barnsley fans what we have signed. I'll keep working hard to do that."
Not only was Dodgson part of the defence that kept a clean sheet, but the left wing-back opened the scoring with a composed finish inside the area.
Scoring goals is something that the system and position allows, according to the Burnley loanee.
"I'm an attacking full-back. I like to get in the box and score the odd goal, which I did tonight! With my weaker foot as well, it was good to swing it in there. I'm very happy. My first goal; hopefully I can get many more."
