Barnsley Football Club is delighted to confirm the permanent signing of Sam Cosgrove on a free transfer.
The striker arrives at Oakwell on a two-year deal, with the option of a further year in the club’s favour.
Joining from Birmingham City, the 26-year-old spent last season with League One champions, Plymouth Argyle.
Cosgrove moved south of the border to the Midlands following an impressive spell with Aberdeen, scoring 47 goals in 103 appearances with the Dons.
Speaking to iFollow Barnsley, our new man expressed his excitement at joining the Reds: “I’m over the moon to be here. Finally got it sorted. Bit of a late one, but I’m ecstatic.”
Khaled El-Ahmad, Barnsley FC Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are happy to be able to bring Sam to Oakwell.
“Sam represents a different profile of striker to add to the forwards we currently have at the club and will add another dimension to the attack.
“Sam knows what it takes to achieve promotion and is excited for the challenge.
“We wish him the best of luck during his time with the club.”
Welcome to Oakwell, Sam!
