NEILL COLLINS ASSESSES BREWERS CHALLENGE

14 September 2023

The Head Coach speaking ahead of Saturday's clash with Burton Albion.

ON BENEFITS OF RECENT BREAK

"We'll only know that after the next few games, in terms of how useful it's been. But we aimed to make really good use of it. We have had lots of time on the training pitch and some time together off the pitch.

"It's been a really positive training week so hopefully we'll see the results of that this weekend."

OPTIONS UP FRONT

"I think it was good to get minutes into Sam Cosgrove and Max Watters in the Grimsby game. I think you can see that Max is getting better as he gets fitter, getting more minutes underneath him.

"That'll be similar with Sam I reckon, especially as a bigger lasd. As he gets more time on the pitch, more sessions with us in training we'll see the best version of him and he definitely adds something different for us."

RETURNING PLAYERS

"The likes of Conor McCarthy and Josh Benson come into contention now having had that game under the belt. Everyone training right now can play if necessary in the games that are coming up.

"Luca Connell still isn't training so we're doing what we can on that, so that when he does return, he's got the best chance to succeed.

"Robbie Cundy has had a couple of issues. It's been a frustrating time for him, but we feel like we're getting closer to resolving that, and hopefully he can come back into the training group soon."

ON BURTON

"We're expecting another tough game, similar I feel to what we faced at Cheltenham, a team who haven't won yet but are going to be very aggressive and energetic, look to out-work us.

"I think we all know, as with every league game, they're going to make it difficult for us and we need to be at our best to get the result we want."
