As voted for by the Reds supporters, Devante Cole is named Player of the Month for August!
In association with ngDecor, our striker is awarded the first accolade of the 23/24 campaign for his rip-roaring start to life under Neill Collins.
Starting the season in perfect fashion, Cole netted a hat-trick in our 7-0 opening day victory against Port Vale.
The next goal came against Oxford United, as our number 44 got the Reds back in the game with a header from a Nicky Cadden corner delivery.
Success on the road followed, firstly at Wigan Athletic where Cole reacted the fastest in the box to a Barry Cotter cross and stabbed home from close range.
A trip to Cheltenham ensued, with Devante finishing a deadly counter-attack by sliding home into the bottom corner with pinpoint accuracy in front of the travelling Barnsley fans.
Finishing the month with five goals in five games, Cole is the August Player of the Month and spoke exclusively to iFollow Barnsley: "Happy to win it, thanks to the team, it was their hard work!"
