The on-loan forward came off the bench to head home a 90th minute winner on Saturday afternoon.
Joining the contest on the hour-mark, with the Reds struggling to make an impact in the final third, John McAtee made the perfect impression to help secure another victory on the road for Neill Collins' side.
Getting himself on the end of fellow-substitute Owen Dodgson's first-time cross from the left wing, McAtee spoke of his relief when seeing the ball end up in the Grecians net.
"Just relief," he admittted. "I feel like I needed it. The last few games, I feel like I've missed a number of good chances.
"I'm quite critical of myself and those are the chances I need to be putting away. So when that went in, I was buzzing, but relieved more than anything and so happy to help the team."
