NEILL COLLINS REFLECTS ON POINT AT ORIENT

21 October 2023

Neill Collins spoke to iFollow Barnsley after the Reds made it seven away league games unbeaten against Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Herbie Kane's sumptuous curling strike in the second half cancelled out Joe Pigott's first half penalty with Sam Cosgrove seeing a late red card for two cautions.

Our Head Coach felt it was a mixed afternoon for the Reds overall, stressing the importance of the team's reaction following going a goal behind.

"I have a lot of thoughts overall," started the Scot. "It was an action-packed game. Ultimately, very pleased with the players' response. It's easy to lose your discipline when you feel an injustice. But I thought they came back and vastly improved in the second half, in terms of our urgency and some of our forward play. We created more and looked like scoring. I think we got a deserved point in the end."

We face a double-header at Oakwell next week as we take on Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday evening before welcoming Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
