REDS RECEIVE PFA PLAYER WORKSHOP

25 November 2023

Our players received a workshop from the PFA on equality, diversion and inclusion at Oakwell this week.

Terry Angus, Community Equalities Executive, Ritchie Humphreys, Delegate Liaison Officer at the PFA, and former Reds striker, Kayode Odejayi helped deliver a workshop to our first team squad regarding the use of language around equality, diversion and inclusion.

The players discussed in groups what was appropriate to say on the football pitch to both fellow teammates and opposition players in accordance with the rules and regulations of the game. As well as proving a key educational piece, it allowed players to share their opinions and take part in group games.

Reds Head Coach, Neill Collins, spoke of the importance of the PFA and this particular workshop that was delivered to his players.

"It was great to have the PFA and Kayode come to speak to the team on Thursday afternoon about EDI. It's an incredibly important part of the modern game now, and as role models and professionals it's something that the coaching staff and players have to be conscious of. The PFA do great work within our industry and it was a pleasure to have the guys down."

A big thank you to the PFA for coming to Oakwell and delivering the workshop.
