U18S TO FACE BRADFORD IN FA YOUTH CUP

Young Reds drawn at home to the Bantams

9 November 2023

Our U18s have been drawn against Bradford City in the FA Youth Cup second round.

This tie will be played at Oakwell on Friday 24 November in a 6:30pm kick-off, with supporters able to watch for free via the WEST STAND ONLY.

Nicky Eaden’s side overcame Carlisle United in their first round clash, coming from behind to secure a 5-1 win at Brunton Park. Emmaisa Nzondo was on target twice, while Bayley McCann and Vimal Yoganathan also found the back of the net in what was a convincing performance from the young Reds.

Bradford, meanwhile, emerged victorious in their encounter at home to Tranmere Rovers to reach this stage.

The young Bantams compete in the Youth Alliance League and currently sit seventh in the table after a steady start to the campaign.

Having registered two consecutive victories, our U18s have climbed to second in the Professional Development League North – five points behind early season pacesetters Birmingham City, with two games in hand.
