We can announce that Maël de Gevigney has been voted as the October Player of the Month!
The Frenchman has been recognised by supporters for his performances during last month, in association with our awards partner, ngdecor!
De Gevigney opened his account for the Reds during October, heading home at the Abbey Stadium in a 4-0 victory on the road against Cambridge United.
"Everybody knows that it was not that easy for me when I arrived..."
The 24-year-old also formed part of the defence that kept three clean sheets and individually producing 22 aerial wins, 36 clearances, 28 defensive regains and a pass completion of 88%.
Speaking exclusively to iFollow Barnsley, de Gevigney admitted that it was a difficult start to life at Oakwell but is proud of his efforts last month: "I'm proud to win this award. It's a reward for my work since I arrived at Barnsley.
"Everybody knows that it was not that easy for me when I arrived, but I try to do my best to help the team to achieve our goals. It was a great month and a great award for me."
