NEILL COLLINS | PRE WYCOMBE PRESS CONFERENCE

27 November 2023

Our Head Coach previewed Tuesday night's Sky Bet League One clash at Oakwell for the media.

ON SATURDAY'S RESULT

"When you lose a goal in the fashion we did, it's not exactly what you planned. The ten minutes following that, it was a bit iffy. But then I thought following that, maybe the fifteen minute, twenty minute mark they did very, very well. Lincoln have collected a lot of points this season, they've got a new manager, first home game under him. But I think they've pushed forward [the Reds] really, really well and got the goals deservedly. The only disappointment was that we didn't make it a really good three points."

ON FIRST LEAGUE START OF LUCA CONNELL THIS CAMPAIGN

"It was great to have Luca back. It was only his first league start, so it's going to take him a little bit of time but I thought he showed some real positive signs. I think Herbie Kane has been excellent across the season. We all know that Callum [Styles] has got quality, so to have them three together was great. Adam Phillips, Josh Benson, Jon Russell are three other top quality players so we know we've got good players in there. Getting Luca back, he brings a certain level of intensity which I like."

ON INJURY CONCERNS AHEAD OF CHAIRBOYS

"Luca and Kacper came through the weekend great. I don't think we've got any injury concerns for tomorrow night."

ON WYCOMBE WANDERERS CLASH

"We want to perform the way we did in the previous home games against Fleetwood and Shrewsbury. If we do that, we give ourselves an opportunity to get three points. We know that these are the games that we need to pick up three points if we want to be where we want to be. It's a great challenge for the players to follow on from Saturday."

ON WHAT TO EXPECT FROM WYCOMBE

"I think everyone will recognise that it's a very difficult league. Wycombe have come down from the Championship, had a season where they've had a change. Matt is a young manager and he's trying to implement some of his ideas, and when you've had a manager for a long period like they had with Gareth, it's going to take a long time. They're still a real handful, they've had some good results, they've obviously had some more disappointing results from their respect. We know that tomorrow night we'll get the Wycombe that will have a lot of those traits and they're going to be very difficult to beat."
