NEILL COLLINS PREVIEWS DERBY COUNTY CLASH

9 November 2023

Neill Collins spoke to the media ahead of our trip to Derby County in Sky Bet League One this Saturday.

ON TEAM NEWS

"Everyone is good. Following on from the Horsham game, outside of Herbie Kane being suspended. Luca Connell got some game time, which is very positive. I think everything is as it was."

ON LUCA'S CAMEO

"It came through it well. Great to see him back. Saw a couple of glimpses of what he can bring to the team. Could have had a couple of goals from his good play in terms of winning the ball back. Having him back around training is great. In my first couple of first weeks back here he was definitely suffering from the illness he's been out with, so I didn't really see Luca at his best, but I'm starting to see that. It's just tempering expectations. I think he's played thirty minutes in the reserve team. thirty minutes for the first team. We all want to see him back regularly but we've still got to build him back."

ON FABIO JALO

"He's doing great. I really feel with Fabio, like all young players, it's about patience and trying to help him succeed. I thought the game on Friday was a great opportunity for him that he earned, and he took it. He was a real livewire, the goalkeeper made a couple of saves from Fab that I couldn't believe. He got his goal and it's good that he got his call-up. We'd like to have him here because we've obvioudly got another game in the cup against Bradford which will be a good opportunity for Fabio, but he'll be involved this weekend and we'll just continue to try and support him as he progresses. But it was definitely good to get him in front of our home crowd and see that he's someone that excites the fans, which is nice."

ON DERBY COUNTY

"Some of their results don't reflect some of their performances. They've got some fantastic players, playing a real attacking style of football, creating chances. Paul Warne's obviously been across it before, couple of promotions out of League One. So he knows what it takes. If you finish ahead of Derby, you'll be in a good position."
