GQA has extended its partnership with Barnsley FC.
- The qualifications body extends partnership with Reds for additional two years.
- GQA will become the Club’s Official Qualifications Academy Partner.
- The Awarding Body will become front-of-shirt sponsors of our U21s from 23/24 campaign.
GQA, an Awarding Body regulated throughout the UK offers qualifications in 16 sectors, including Construction, Glass, Glazing and Fenestration, Nuclear and Print, today announced an extension of its partnership with Barnsley FC. The new agreement will see them become the official qualifying partner of the Barnsley FC Academy and the front of shirt sponsor for the club’s U21s team for the 2023/24 season.
The partnership between GQA and Barnsley FC is more than just a sponsorship. GQA is committed to supporting the club’s youth development program and helping to create the next generation of Barnsley stars.

Mark Crossfield, Head of Academy Education at Barnsley FC, said: “Mick and the team have been excellent in wanting to be more than just a sponsor of the club. After meeting with Mick, it was clear to me that he wants to get involved and make a positive difference to our academy players. After our initial meeting, Mick came back to me with a series of topics his team could deliver to our U18 scholars.
“This season GQA have delivered workshops on Fenestration and how a business works. These sessions are excellent in making the players aware of other industries that they could get involved with whilst pursuing the ambition of professional football. We will be planning a new series of workshops for next season which will include the players getting hands on experience in glass installation and surveying.”
