SHINE A LIGHT FOR BETH

17 May 2023

We continue to support our dear colleague and beloved friend Beth Sefton.

In mid-February, our Head of Ticketing at Barnsley FC, Beth Sefton was rushed into hospital and underwent emergency, life-saving surgery.

Everyone at Oakwell continues to support Beth, her family and the work of our wonderful NHS as Beth recovers.

As a Club, we would love to see another moment of magic in the 61st minute of Friday night's game against Bolton Wanderers at Oakwell.

We would have suggested the 16th minute again, which was a wonderfully uplifting sight against Sheffield Wednesday in March. But with these lighter nights, we are asking for any tribute to take place 16 minutes into the second half.

16 representing her years of service to the Club so far!

Kieron, her dear husband has provided us with another update.

"Beth has had some setbacks recently but continues to fight. We never expected this to be an entirely smooth journey and her progress and likely eventual outcomes are still positive.

"While there is a long way to go, we are starting to see more of the Beth we know and love showing through - including her trademark sarcasm!

"The Barnsley games and the club in general are some of the things we talk about with her often as she goes through her rehabilitation. She loves this club and we're all thankful for the continued support of staff and supporters.

"All of the staff who keep our NHS running continue to do great work and we could not be any more grateful for all that they do."

We also have a Just Giving page set up for Beth, to raise funds that will assist her, Kieron and her three sons on her road to recovery.

See you on Friday night, Reds - Be the difference.
