Hometown fighter Callum Simpson scored a TKO on his TV debut at the weekend!
Backed by a huge travelling army of Reds supporters - as well as a number of Barnsley FC players - Callum Simpson earned a third round stoppage of opponent, Celso Neves in Manchester on Saturday evening.
Simpson, a 26-year-old super middlewight knocked down Neves in the opening stanza with the durable Swiss fighter hanging on for another round, before Callum found the bingo punch with 90 seconds left of the third round.
This was the Barnsley man's first televised bout having recently signed with Boxxer, whose shows are featured across Sky Sports.
His latest success moved him to 11-0 as a professional with nine of those victories coming by way of stoppage.
"The support I’ve received is amazing, especially from the Barnsley fans and players." Simpson told us, post-fight.
"It was great to have Liam Kitching walk out with me, and to see the other players holding up Team Simpson flags while chanting “there’s only one Callum Simpson".
"I want titles this year, I want English at least by the end of the year, I’ll fight anyone. I believes domestically there’s no-one out there I can’t beat."
