LUKE THOMAS REVIEWS GAS POINT

4 March 2023

Coming on as a second half substitute this afternoon, Luke Thomas reflected on taking a point back up to South Yorkshire.

Having spent last season on-loan at the Memorial Stadium, Thomas returned to familiar surroundings and despite a 20-minute run-out in this clash, he was unable to help the Reds find a breakthrough against his former side.

"We are a little disappointed that we couldn't get all three points," Luke began. "But credit to Bristol Rovers; they had a game-plan and stuck to it, and it's worked for them today."

In a game that was very stop/start and featured just a handful of opportunities, Luke believes the Reds edged it whilst not on top form.

The focus quickly shifts, he says, to Tuesday evening's fixture at Oakwell when the Reds meet Portsmouth in a 7.45pm kick off.

"We feel like we weren't at our best today. But we certainly had enough chances to win the game. If there was going to be a winner, it was only going to be one team and that was us.

"But we can't be too disappointed and we'll move onto Tuesday night."

And don't forget, as the midfielder pointed out, we are straight back in action when taking on Pompey this coming Tuesday.
