MICHAEL DUFF PREVIEWS VISIT OF SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

20 March 2023

Our Head Coach spoke to the media this morning ahead of tomorrow night's Sky Bet League One clash with Sheffield Wednesday at Oakwell.

ON INJURIES

"Everyone's fine. It's the same pool of players to pick from, so that's a positive."

ON DEPTH IN SQUAD

"I think in the last three or four games we've made four or five subs. We do ask a lot of our lads physically. Now we've got the opportunity to go like for like. Fresh, hungry and ready to come on to impact the game."

ON TOMORROW'S GAME

"It's a big game, there's no getting away from it. The process will be the same, the set up will be the same, the operation will be the same. We only get three points if we win. There are local bragging rights, we're not stupid, we're not trying to play it down.

"It's a big game. It's a full house against your local rivals. There are only three teams above us, and they're one of them. If you want to get higher up the league you have to beat the teams above you. We've done that already a couple of times this year. I'm looking forward to it, I'm sure the players are looking forward to it and I'm sure the supporters are looking forward to it."

ON SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY

"To go half a season unbeaten, we did it at Burnley. I know the significance, it's an unbelievable achievement. Hopefully, we can end it.

"They've conceded nine goals away from home all season. That's why they're top of the league. They do every part of the game well, which is why they're 23 games unbeaten. They've got goals, they've got quality, they've got Championship players. Everything about them means they're at the top of the league for the reason. We've got to be at our best and bring everything that we can bring."

ON MANAGING IN A DERBY

"I'm looking forward to it. It's not very rarely I want to put my boots on but when I walk out for the warm-up, I'm sure I'll be thinking 'I'd have liked to have played in this one'.

"They're the games they want to play in. You can make yourself a hero and write yourself in folklore in certain parts of the country. I'm sure if somebody can go and get a winner and we can do the double over them, it'll go down as a little piece of history. That's an opportunity for the players. They'll be saying exactly the same thing."
