MICHAEL DUFF PREVIEWS EXETER TRIP

27 March 2023

Our Head Coach spoke to the media on Monday morning to look ahead to our trip to Devon tomorrow evening in Sky Bet League One.

ON CURRENT LEAGUE POSITION

"I've genuinely not thought about it. One thing the weekend does show you, you can't take anything for granted. No matter how much you think 'that's a banker' - you look at some of the results from the weekend. It has a funny habit, football, of kicking you in the nether regions. We just need to keep focused on ourselves. Our sights haven't adjusted due to noise, the players have been good with that."

ON EXETER CITY

"The team that played here for them and the team that played for us - two completely different teams. Gary (Caldwell) has implemented a new style of football. They play through the thirds, 3-4-3, really easy on the eye.

"They've got some good players, got a good blend. They've got some good youngsters like they always do at Exeter. Winning 5-0, they'll be riding the crest of a wave. We'll be fully prepared for the best version of Exeter."

ON INJURIES

"Friday, we got more minutes into Robbie Cundy, Josh Martin, Oli Shaw and Clarke Oduor. Barry (Cotter) hasn't been training today. It was a really positive week all round."

ON ATMOSPHERE OF THE FANS

"It's a sign of the work. We talked six months ago about rebuilding the trust between the team and the supporters again. A sign of that is the atmosphere the other night.

"The supporters have seen the hard work, the attitude of the players. They're really nice things to hear. Two or three people have stopped me and said 'we've got our club back'. It's almost like people want to come and watch us play, now, rather than 'oh, I've got to go."
