MICHAEL DUFF ON BRISTOL ROVERS STALEMATE

4 March 2023

Reds boss reflects on a hard-earned point at the Memorial Stadium.

The Head Coach believes that whilst his side were not at their best in this one, there were good things to take away from the fixture.

Despite the stalemate against the Gas, it was Barnsley who created the clearer chances and limited their hosts to very little in front of goal.

"We've had to earn it (the point), there's no point getting away from that. We weren't quite at our best today, but in the second half we were much better.

"Herbie Kane's had a good chance first half, goalkeeper makes a great save from Kitching's header and the referee's decisions have gone against us.

"Look, there's positives within it. Clean sheet, point away from home - so yeah, it was definitely well-earned."

Next up for the Reds is a Tuesday night clash with Portsmouth under the Oakwell lights, the first of back to back home league fixtures.

Tickets are selling well again for this game, with adult prices in the Ponty End set once more at just £20. Kids can attend for just a fiver in all areas!
