LATEST UPDATE ON BETH SEFTON

3 March 2023

Two weeks after being rushed into hospital for emergency surgery, we have the following update from Beth's family.

Our dear colleague and great friend, Beth Sefton continues to recover following emergency, life-saving surgery. The Club continues to receive a mountain of messages showing support for a woman who has often been the first point of contact at Oakwell, for the last 16 years.

Beth's husband, Kieron has again provided us with the latest information as his partner recovers in hospital.

"Beth remains in critical condition, but she also remains stable. She has been partly-conscious this week, and slowly but surely she continues to make good progress each day.

"We are extremely grateful for all of the NHS staff who provide Beth with round-the-clock care to make sure she's as comfortable as possible.

"We - as a family - want to thank the fans for all of the support they have shown. We look forward to showing Beth the crowd videos at recent games and all of the supportive comments online."

Barnsley Football Club will continue to be there for Beth and her family, at each and every step of her recovery.

Supporters online have already suggested that at our next home fixture - Tuesday 7 March at 7.45pm - that the crowd 'shine a light' for Beth on the 16th minute of the game. This is a lovely touch and one which the Club supports wholeheartedly.
