As well as the EFL fixture release day, the draws for the first round of the Carabao Cup and EFL Trophy group stage will be made on Thursday 22 June.
Once the Reds have discovered their schedule ahead of the 23/24 Sky Bet League One campaign, the respective draws for both competitions will be held live on Sky Sports later that day.
All 72 EFL clubs will go into the hat for the Carabao Cup first round, with 36 ties to be played week commencing 7 August 2023. This round will see teams drawn into northern and southern sections. The 12 Premier League teams not competing in Europe will enter at the second round, with the eight remaining top flight sides joining at the third round.
Prior to this, we will find out our three EFL Trophy group stage opponents – once more in northern and southern sections. All 48 League One and League Two teams will be split across 16 groups, with the following U21 outfits also in the mix:
